Mission Statement

To create an academic center that provides free after-school programs and academic support for low-income and refugee families, empowering students through accessible learning resources and personalized mentorship. Our mission is to foster motivation, nurture academic interests, and build lasting mentor-student relationships that inspire confidence and unlock potential for lifelong success.

What We Do

The tutoring program at Inspire Learning consists of weekly Zoom meetings (tutoring sessions) with your student. These sessions are around 45 minutes to an hour long, and we schedule a separate weekly session for each course that your student takes. During these sessions, our tutors will support your student by assessing their skill level, answering questions and helping with homework, filling in knowledge gaps, and teaching the course content to your student. Our tutors will strive to understand and support your student in the best way possible, as well as develop a meaningful relationship with them.

In order to respect your time and our tutors' time, we limit each student to select at most two of our available courses. Parents should think carefully about which courses would benefit their student the most, and select either one or two courses from our list of offered courses.

Free Tutoring Eligibility

Our mission is to provide accessible academic support for families who need it most. Our free tutoring services are open to refugees and low-income families who may not have the resources for private tutoring or academic assistance. We believe that financial circumstances should never be a barrier to learning, which is why we’ve created a supportive, enriching environment where students can grow academically and build confidence.

Eligible families gain access to comprehensive tutoring and after-school programs in core subjects, designed to help students thrive in school and beyond. From tailored homework help to test preparation and project guidance, our program ensures that each student receives the support they need to succeed.

About us

We are a student-founded nonprofit tutoring organization created by high school students from the Bay Area who are passionate about sharing knowledge and giving back to our community. Inspire Learning was officially opened in 2024. Our main goal is to provide free, quality academic support for students from low-income and refugee families, helping bridge educational gaps and empower young learners. Driven by a commitment to inclusivity and learning, we offer a supportive space where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Meet our team

Daniel (President/Founder):

Hey everyone! I’m Daniel — the guy who can’t say no to dumplings or a cool project idea. When I’m not skiing down a mountain, you’ll probably find me building things, whether that’s planes, video games, or anything that involves coding. I’ve got three siblings to keep things interesting, and a love for engineering that keeps me busy. Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve been surrounded by innovation, and I hope to add something unique to the mix someday. Can’t wait to dive into this with all of you! Favorite subjects: Math, Physics, Computer Science.

Emily (Vice President/Co-Founder):

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a huge fan of fashion, but my love for writing runs just as deep. Growing up, reading Greek mythology was my absolute favorite thing to do, and I loved it so much that I even published my own Greek mythology book! When I'm not diving into ancient myths, I’m passionate about learning about global issues, and of course, my favorite subjects are history and English. I’m super excited to meet some awesome friends through this opportunity because, trust me, learning is fun—I promise!

Amy (Secretary/Web Designer):

Let me introduce myself! I can’t talk about “me” without talking about my dog, my number-one companion and forever buddy. When I’m not hanging out with them, you’ll probably find me drawing just about anything that sparks my interest—from daily quirks to colorful characters—whether it’s on canvas or my iPad. I also spend a fair amount of time in the woods at our family vacation home, where I get my dose of peace (or what little I can get, considering I only have brothers, which keeps life… lively, to say the least). I’m into math, science, art, and, of course, a nice cup of boba.

Our Impact:

At Inspire Learning, we are committed to providing quality tutoring services to underserved students, with a special focus on low-income families and refugees. Currently, we serve students across the Bay Area, but our vision is to expand our reach nationwide, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, has access to the educational support they need to succeed.

We believe that education is a powerful tool for transformation, and we work tirelessly to make learning opportunities accessible to those who need them most. Through partnerships with local public elementary and middle schools, we are able to connect with students facing academic challenges, particularly those who may not have access to private tutoring services due to financial constraints.

Our tutoring services are provided at no or low cost to families in need, helping students build foundational skills in core subjects like math, reading, and science. In addition to academic tutoring, we offer social-emotional support to help students build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning—key factors in overcoming barriers to success.

With the support of generous donors and volunteers, we are able to provide resources, mentorship, and a safe space for students to thrive academically and personally. As we grow, we hope to expand our services to reach more students in diverse communities across the country and around the world, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to unlock their full potential.
